Lamisil Tablets

Lamisil tablets are used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). It usually appears between 30 and 60 minutes before being treated. Lamisil tablets may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

This list is not complete and more information will be provided after the first use is known. Do not use Lamisil tablets for more than 2 weeks without consulting your doctor. This medicine is given by mouth. If a child comes to you by this time, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

If your child has ever had an allergic reaction to this medicine or any other medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not give Lamisil tablets to children younger than 8 years old.

Lamisil tablets may be used for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for an equivalent use. Lamisil tablets are not recommended for use in children.

What is Lamisil?

Lamisil tablets contain terbinafine hydrochloride which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals.

Terbinafine is an antifungal that works by killing the fungus which causes athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). It may also slow the healing process of infected skin. Terbinafine is only available by prescription. Talk to your doctor (see section 4) or pharmacist before using Lamisil tablets if you are using this medicine to treat a fungal infection.

What are Lamisil Tablets?

They are usually swallowed with or without food. The tablets are coated with a thin layer of coating to prevent the tablet from breaking down. If the coating breaks down, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using the medicine.

This medicine is given by mouth by the mouth-mouth route. It is usually taken once daily with or without food. The tablets can be taken with or without food.

Some people may experience nausea, diarrhoea, skin rash, or allergic reaction. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking Lamisil tablets and see your doctor immediately.

How do I use Lamisil tablets?

Lamisil tablets contain terbinafine hydrochloride which is an antifungal medicine.

If the coating breaks down, contact your doctor for advice before using the medicine.

If you are taking the oral route, you will need to take it for 2 to 3 days. This will allow your body to absorb the medicine in the body and prevent the infection from developing. Continue taking Lamisil tablets for this duration. Do not stop taking it or change your dosage without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
